Alex Graduates!

It is hard to believe my little brother is not so little anymore. Last week Alex graduated from high school and played in his last high school state golf tournament. He had a lot of people around to help him celebrate both accomplishments. Here are Ro and I trying to get a pretty picture, all dressed up and ready to head to Olathe.

Arriving to the paparazzi of ladies, my mom, sister, aunt and both grandmas :)

Practicing her walking skills while we all hung out.

All the boys grilling in the garage and having a brew.

Attempts at a nice family picture...

....oh well

The start of the longest Monday ever. Graduation got postponed on Sunday because of tornadoes so they rescheduled it for Monday night. Well Alex teed off at 10:20 that day at state. After two weather delays and three extra playoff holes on top of the 18 regular ones, we finished around 6:30. Alex placed 9th in State, top ten status baby!! Pretty good way to go out before he starts his college career at Central Missouri State next fall. It was so fun to be out there watching him for a whole tournament. Shelby watched Rowan for me so I could finally make this happen this year. Before Rowan, I would frequently make it out to see him play rounds all the time, turns out with a 10 month old that's not happening.

So anyway, we turned around a raced home to shower and change because graduation started at 7. We all missed the first hour of graduation, which ended up being ok actually. We still made it in time to hear the class president sing her speech to the tunes of pop songs...yes I said sing, awkward alert! He looked handsome, we threw ourselves together alright and everyone ate fried chicken for dinner afterwards :)

Proud to be your sister buddy, love you!

Meeting the Springers

Grandpa Bud and Mickey finally got to meet their great granddaughter when they came in town for Alex's graduation. They came and played at our house for some one-on-one Rowan time and here are some photos I captured of their time with us.

Mickey is so good with kids, Rowan took to her right away.

Now Rowan has met all of my grandparents, all of her great grandparents on my side. We are praying that she gets to meet her final great grandparent on Matt's side, his Nina, who lives out in South Carolina. We make the trip out east this July to hopefully make that occasion happen. Pretty lucky little lady to have 8 out of 9 great grandparents still around to love on her. I am thankful for the spread in generations my family has been blessed with. I have fond memories of my great grandparents and I hope Rowan will experience the same blessing.

The aftermath of our fun was a very messy aboriginal baby. It all washed off the sidewalk and her easy peasy though. The cornstarch turns almost chalk like and practically dusts off once it dries. Even though she enjoyed eating it almost as much as splashing around in it, I deemed it a success!
