Rowan's Dedication

On October 21st, we had Rowan dedicated at our church. In doing this we promised to raise her in a home that models Christ's love. We promised to set a good example through our relationship with each other and with her. Our families and friends were also there to promise to do the same and to support our family in its efforts. Matthew and I felt so blessed to have so many people join us for the day and publicly support our family in this way. We know she will be surrounded with many loving relationships as she grows up, which we are so very thankful for. Our community of friends and family mean so much to us and we do not forget to thank God for their presence in our lives.

Of course she had a terrible morning of crying and being gassy and not napping which totally stressed me out into thinking she would be a hot mess at the service. She pulled herself together though with a 20 min nap on the way to church and did fine. Nana and Papa bought her her first Bible which was so great considering her own parents hadn't gotten around to doing that yet. Grandpa and Grandma bought her a little necklace and soft bible animals book. Uncle Alex and Aunt Shelby helped pick out the presents too. All were very thoughtful and unexpected gifts. She got to wear her fancy dress grandma had bought her and given to me at one of my showers. Afterwards all the Clarks headed over to Great Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate Lynley's first birthday....but that's another post :)

We pray Rowan is rooted and established in love;
we pray that she may have power with all the saints to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ towards her, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that she may be filled to the measure of the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3: 17-19
